Karina received both her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree (2000) and her Law degree (2002) from the University of Victoria, British Columbia. She was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2003, in the Northwest Territories in 2005, and in Saskatchewan in 2012. Karina practiced family law in the Northwest Territories where she was ultimately appointed as the first Children’s Lawyer for the Northwest Territories in 2011. Karina has worked with a wide variety of clients from diverse backgrounds, has appeared successfully at all levels of court in Saskatchewan, and has recently dedicated her time to focusing that broad knowledge base on assisting clients to mediate their family law issues.
Having worked for years in a litigation practice Karina knows firsthand how difficult that process can be for clients during the stressful times following a family breakup. She offers her clients an extraordinary knowledge base in all aspects of family law and her mediation clients have the benefit of that background combined with her dedication to assist them in arriving at an amicable and legally binding resolution to their matters outside of the court process.
Karina also accepts referrals to review family law court decisions and provide advice or representation when advisable on family law appeals and continues to represent clients on litigation matters including complex property division files. The Saskatoon community benefits from Karina’s regular volunteer times at CLASSIC where she provides free legal advice during their family law clinic hours.
